In April the Thursday Morning Book Club will meet on the fourth Thursday of the month (April 25) from 10:30-11:30am. Join us on the third floor to discuss the book of the month--share your thoughts and opinions!

This month's title is Genius of Place by Justin Martin. A limited number of copies will be held at the library ahead of time and can be checked out at the Circulation Desk, or use your account to order the item.

Newcomers are always welcome. Didn't finish the book? That's ok too. Share your ideas for other titles that the group might enjoy!

From Choice Reviews: "This readable, chatty book traces the contours and life work of Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903), the founder of American landscape architecture. Most famous for New York's Central Park, Olmsted and partner Calvert Vaux designed public and private landscapes large and small. Enduring works include Brooklyn's Prospect Park, the Emerald Necklace of Boston, and the grounds of the US Capitol. A late-blooming polymath, Olmsted was a writer, environmentalist, and social reformer. ... [This book] succeeds in portraying a seminal character whose life strongly influenced the way people experience urban space in contemporary America. Summing Up: Recommended. All general and academic readers."
