Millet’s Dandelions: How to Pastel Paint with Greg Maichack via Zoom

Wednesday, March 316:30—8:30 PMOnlineWestborough Public Library55 West Main St, Westborough, MA, 01581

Award-winning pastel artist Gregory John Maichack will present “Dandelions,” a pastel painting workshop for adults and teens 18+ on Wednesday, March 31 from 6:30-8:30 pm via Zoom. This is a pastel painting workshop designed for both sheer beginners to advanced participants.

In this new, highly researched two-hour workshop, you will have fun producing your own original pastel painting of Millet’s elegant “Dandelions.” Gregory Maichack visited the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Boston, which has the largest collection of Millet’s pastels, and he took pictures of “Dandelions,” which is in their permanent collection. We will create our own smaller version choosing parts from Millet’s pastel painting that inspires us. Supplies will be provided, and all participants will keep their pastel paintings and supplies afterward.

Artist Gregory John Maichack lives in western Holyoke. He is a portraitist and painter working primarily in pastels. He has been in many national juried shows and was awarded numerous Massachusetts Cultural Council grants. In addition to portraiture, his still lifes and landscapes are represented by galleries from Kennebunkport, Maine to San Francisco, California.

“This project is supported in part from a grant from the Westborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
