Curious about Mah Jongg? Come learn the basics at this introductory workshop!

Weekly on Wednesdays, April 1-22, 2026

The first meeting (April 1) will involve an overview of the game. It will include a hands-on understanding of the tiles, and how to use them to create the patterns for playing the game. The week between sessions will give you an opportunity to practice creating the Mah Jongg hands on your own.

The other three meetings (April 8, 15, and 22) will be completely interactive. You will learn all the mechanics on how to play Mah Jongg and some general strategies to help you get started. You will have the chance to circulate and play with others, challenging yourself and applying what you've learned!

Please note: 

• We are asking those who register to attend all four sessions. Please only sign up if you can commit to attending all of them. 
• Please do not register if you attended one of the intro sessions held in March 2026 at the library.
