Kick off Pride Month by discussing The Rise and Fall of Boston Pride!
Join us as author Daniel J. Gonzalez discusses the history of Boston Pride, from its first march in 1971 through 2024. His book (June 2025) examines the rise of the pride movement in Boston, the ups and downs of putting on events in June for 50+ years, the events leading to the shutdown in 2021, and the rise of its newest iteration: Boston Pride for the People. A Q&A will follow the presentation.

About the author: Daniel Joseph Gonzalez, Ed.D, IMH-E® is an early education expert with over 25 years of early education experience. He holds a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership from Northeastern University, a Master’s of Science in Educational Studies from Wheelock College, a Master’s level Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Wheelock College, a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Development from Wheelock College and an Associate’s of Science in Early Childhood Education from MassBay Community College. He currently works for Neighborhood Villages, an educational think tank in Boston, MA. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his partner Tim, and their dogs Bella and Harry.
